I did not read the book before I saw the movie. This movie was too Harry Potter-ish for me. The kid needs to save the world in 10 days, so lets train for it. In 10 days? Then he gets his butt kicked by a girl and now he’s ready to save the world. PFF whatever.
Now my wife and best friend who did read the book are pissed. Not only did they want their money back they wanted 2 hours of their lives back. Apparently the movie is nothing like the book and the author sold out just to make a quick buck it appears. They were so mad that they refuse to buy another book from this author.
They might sit in Borders and read the books but won’t buy them.
