Great movie!

I was wondering how they were going to translate a very long and intricate book into a movie - the filmmakers have done a wonderful job! There is a lot of action, but also a lot of opportunity for the young actors to shine as they display a range of emotions. The movie is dark, as it should be, and gripping. Now I want to see it again to savor it more slowly. Can't wait until next summer for Part 2!

We took our 2 kids, age 11 and 8, to the movie and we all loved it! The adults loved all the Superman references, and the kids loved the excellent animation and action sequences. Everyone loved the performances and the silly plot!

Fun, but flawed

The kids in our group really enjoyed this movie. It was very different, and much more simplistic, than the book, and some of the characters were miscast (Annabeth is supposed to be blond and brainy, not brawny). However, Percy an Grover were likable and fun to watch, and the Greek mythology monsters were scary and interesting. Overall, fun to see.
