This movie is very true to the original novel, which was itself a wonderful story. All the essentials were kept, and the dialog and narration were true to the novel. The acting was terrific. If I hadn't known that Jeff Bridges was Rooster Cogburn, I would have thought it was some previously unknown but outstanding actor. Matt Damon and Josh Brolin were also wonderful. And Hailee Steinfeld was terrific as Maddie - and she deserves a Best Actress nomination (not Best Supporting Actress, Best Actress). The supporting cast, the cinematography, and the music were all outstanding as well. While it may not be the best Coen Brothers movie, it was certainly among their best. Thank you Joel & Ethan for finally doing justice to this wonderful book!

Scariest Movie of the Year

The story was well told and interesting without being sensationalized. I would have liked a little more discussion about what we can do to solve the four deficits we are facing, although there was some of that in the live panel discussion after the movie. Dave Walker is to be commended for taking up the task of sounding the alarm, and the sponsors, especially Agora Financial, for having the courage to produce this film.
