My 8 year old daughter is obsessed with the "Diary" book series so of course, the movies are a must for her. She was very engrossed in the whole movie, liked it very much. That makes it worth it.
I took my 7 year old to this move, along with my 17 year old and my mother who's 59. My Mom, oldest daughter and I were very bored with this movie, which is unusual. Normally I LIKE animated films. Toy Story, Ice Age etc etc are all great and I can watch them over and over. I guess I was expecting more comedy since Will Ferrell and Tina Fey were involved. In my opinion, the narration/opening monologue at the beginning was too "involved" for my 7 year old to follow & understand. I wish we wouldve waited til the DVD was released instead of spending $40 at the theatre on a Saturday night.
I was very excited & anxious to see this movie. Our 6 year old was at the grandparents on Valentines night so it was perfect opportunity to see this rated R flick with my husband and 17 year old. We were all bored to death, I thought it was very slow, and I was hopeful it was going to be awesome since Anthony Hopkins was playing a major role. I was very unimpressed and wish I wouldve waited to pay $1rental fee at RedBox to watch this movie; and I definitely wont be renting it, nor watching it on HBO or any other home channel. It was pretty bad. My husband and 17 year old feel the same. The blood & gore werent even that explicit. This couldve really been a PG-13 movie in my opinion.
