The cast and crew of this movie must have realized the inevitable comparisons that would ensue upon viewing. Still, they trudge ahead with the weakest of scripts, underdeveloped characterizations and absent plot.
It is a shame that major talents like Hopkins, Del Toro and Blunt would deign to be party to this throwaway film.
Special effects were top-notched and served what little story there was. Set design was mystifyingly unkempt without context.
Why would a sane director/producer want to re-do a classic?
No, I do not recommend this movie.
