Excellent movie, but not The Lighning Thief

The Lighning Thief was very entertaining and those who haven't read the book should follow the story line with no trouble at all. The special effects were well done.
However, the entire plot was different, vital characters were missing and/or changed dramatically and new scenes were invented.
So, all in all, I'd recommend The Lightning Thief to anyone who hasn't read the book. Those of us who did read it, spent a good part of the movie waitng for things to get back on track, and they never did.
