My 11 year old, who has read the first 4 books, loved it. I've read the first 3 books and thought the movie was a little disjointed and was surprised at some of the major themes/characters in the book that weren't even mentioned. But overall a fun movie. Some scary-looking characters--too much for the 6 year old next to us.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
