Not the book but...

I thought this was an excellent family movie. The plot was suspenseful enough to keep me and the kids guessing. I hadn't read the books, but my kids had, and thought the movie wasn't as good as the books. If that's true, the books must be awesome. The only flaw was the presence of some characters in modern times who were killed off in the ancient myths. This makes for an interesting plot twist in this story, but detracts from the "the ancient myths are real" basis of the story.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
