Great film, especially for the special effects, and imaginative world created on Pandora; the plot was fairly standard and somewhat predictable, but didn't detract from the whole experience. The 3D aspects may be hyped up a bit much. I saw it in IMAX 3D and didn't think there was anything that stood out too much differently than the 2D version might have. It really doesn't need to be taken as a political movie, aside from 2 isolated comments made by certain characters. It is plain in the movie what is right and wrong, but from those 2 isolated comments, I kind of get the feeling that Cameron might actually intend the movie to be a metaphor for the US military activity in the Middle East, and that just doesn't work.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
