I saw this movie in Imax 3D. It was an awesome experience that stimulated the senses, everything I expected it to be. A previous reviewer related the concept of the story line to the movie "Dances with Wolves". That was basically my statement to my wife when we left the theater. Some reviewers commented on the movie's script being sophomoric or "insulting to their intelligence". My advice would be; "when you see a movie trailer that depicts nothing but high intensity action, consisting of 8 foot tall blue aliens flying around on the backs of pterodactyl type creatures, you might not want to go in expecting to be intellectually stimulated".
