I wasn't sure if I would like this movie, much less love it. But I went, I watched, I fell in love. This movie well deserves the R rating, on language alone, but other than that, it is a terrific movie that highly deserves every trophy it is awarded. Colin Firth will win the top acting award for this movie.
This is not the type of movie I usually go to, but the trainer looked interesting so hubby and I went tonight, and I am so glad we did. This is a terrific movie that I would love to see again. Bewarned: there is a lot of violence but also a lot of action and suspense. Our audience clapped at the end, it was that good. What? You're still reading my review? Order some tickets and go! Go! Now!
I don't know who this unfunny movie was supposed to be marketed toward. Is there a group of people out there who enjoy lame ED jokes? Not the men who have the problem, nor their partners, or small children, or teens, or normal folk like me who only wanted to see a funny movie but didn't. I would not recemmend this movie, even to my worst enemy (if I had one!) Save your money and time.
I love Reese and Paul, and together they make an attractive couple, but not a good movie. The plot was thinner than deli meat. I would rather have stayed home and watched Legally Blonde for the 400th time than spend $12 watching this movie. Wait for it to be free on cable, then grab your snuggie and take a good nap.
It took almost the entire movie time for the plot to turn happy. I thought it would be another great, cheerful TP film, but it wasn't. It was a movie about a woman who finally realizes she can be loved and love others, and not be so selfish. Madea shows up, but not nearly enough for this viewer. It is an okay movie which should have been better.
This is a really cute movie for the entire family. The plot is well written and the characters are realistic. It is worth seeing. Load up the SUV with all the neighborhood kids and head to the theatre! (Take your own candy to save big bucks tho!)
Book was better ( and cheaper! ) If you are looking for a movie that is pure fluff, for a movie you will forget within hours, then head off to this movie. Don't come crying to me later, tho, for a refund.
Husband, wife and 13 year old daughter enjoyed this movie. The 3D graphics were good, altho I thought it could have had more. Message about friendship was sweet. Adults will like references to Al Gore and similarity to Wizard of Oz.
I will admit I laughed twice during this movie, but the second time I was laughing at myself for having paid to see such stupid, immature crap. BJs here! BJs there! If you don't know immediately what a BJ is, don't go. Even cable has better stuff on than this, and the popcorn costs less.
If you only see one movie this year, Slumdog should be the movie. It was a wonderfully written, disturbing movie that kept this viewer so engrossed in the plot that when the lights came on two hours later, it seemed like only minutes had passed. Be warned that it does deserve its R rating, not for language but for the inhumane attacks against the children. It is a movie you can't afford to miss.
