Great Movie, but not like the Series

I really enjoyed the movie, but not because it was a great representation of the books. Grover (Brandon T. Jackson) MADE that movie! His comic timing was awesome and the special effects and storyline (even if it was a crayon-drawing of what Rick Riordan wrote) were engaging. I was sad to see that some key characters from the novels were missing. It will be VERY difficult to weave them in if they plan on doing any sequels. The biggest bummer: the prophecy wasn't mentioned (and honestly, I was looking forward to a CGI Oracle!) which is the whole purpose of the series. I was also kind of bummed that they made the characters older on screen than the books. In my opinion, it minimizes the struggles that Percy in the book had to go through.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
