Having not read this particular book, I was very impressed with the movie. I'm not one that normally notices this but it was BEAUTIFULLY DIRECTED! There are such details and wonderful shots that truly make the movie-goer experience the film rather than just watch it. I think the acting was tremendous and that the casting was brilliant. John and Savannah were so believable and john's father deserves an award for his portrayal. I watched it twice opening weekend and will definately purchase when it comes out for my collection!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
