I would have appreciated the writers sticking more closely to the true Superman origin. How his J. Kent died, his relationship with Lois Lane, etc... The 'modernization'/modification of the Superman story was unnecessary and unwanted.
Great action! Happy to see Superman being 'super'. Not getting the short end of the stick from lesser foes as in past renditions of the character (including animated versions).
All in all, good movie...not great. LOTS of special effects/CGI but almost too much. Seems this is what the filmmakers were hanging their hats on. I would still put the first Christopher Reeve movie above this one. At least that one stayed true to all aspects of the original story.
Pros great action, music, run time, good message, great costumes
