Very good follow-up to the first Iron Man but a little slow in spots. Mickey Rourke is awesome, but even CGI can't animate Scarlett Johansson. The end of credits preview is worth waiting for. Minor complaint that being in the first row for an IMAX screening is a bit uncomfortable. But that's not the movie's fault.
Cameron created a lavish spectacle and should walk off with every special effects Oscar offered. However, the plot is a standard war movie meets a "Silent Running" plea for responsibility. The script and dialogue are laughable and I could see every major plot point coming from miles away. Did that stop me from enjoying the spectacle? Not much. I liked that the mercenaries looked like an actual army but also felt it was odd that only one woman would go rogue when faced with the mission. Also, seeing Stephen Lang strut around and bluster was a major treat.
