Classic science fantasy

Everyone knows that the special effects are wonderful. (I'd love to know how many minutes of non-bluescreen acting there actually are - 5, 6?) This is also a classic fantasy, with the expected characters and story arch - the alien who finds acceptance, the messiah who saves his people and is reborn, the spiritual vs. the mechanical. It might have been a more imaginative story line, but it has the feelgood ending people want.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
