There are very few things in this world as pleasurable as watching Mel Gibson kick the crap out of someone. When other actors do it, it lacks the raw emotional edginess, the sense that in some respects, their characters are emotionally engaged in the violence they're inflicting. Not to harp on it, but when Mel takes it to the bad guys, you believe every punch, every grimace, every grunt, all of it. God, it is so nice to go to the local cinema, pay the cost of admission, and see old Mel's hard and grizzled, well worn in, mug up there on the screen again. I've missed him sorely since "Signs" and was very excited to see this latest film. Please see it and let Hollywood know that audiences want to see movies like this.
