True to the book. DiCaprio perfect for the role and did well. A little drawn out in places. I would expect that folks thinking that this was a different kind of movie from the trailers would be disappointed, but to portray otherwise would give away the ending. The person that went with me thought the movie "disturbing" (had not read the book).
See it . . . The movie succeeds by intertwining important issues of today . . . cost of success, generational differences, the economy and job losses and the importance of family / friends. Didn't think I'd like it but it makes you think long after its over. The acting was good . . . the "4th grader" in particular was effective. Clooney shows a different dimension than shown in other movies. Think the casting for his female partner was lame.
The audience broke into appause at the end . . . it was that good. Go and see. Had shades of Dickens and was like a really good fairy tale. Soundtrack was awesome. Takes you very far away and when you come back you can't help but be very thankful you are here.
