The 3D experience of Avatar (my first 3D ever) was fantastic. Particularly the scenes in the forest with the creatures there. The insects flitting about felt like they were right in the theatre. The story was the weak part. White man shows courageous but yet more weak-minded natives the Way. But the effects made up for some, if not all of the familiar story line. More violence than I like. This is not a movie I would've taken my kids to when they were younger than 11 or so. There were some younger kids sitting behind us who were crying and screaming at some of the more graphic scenes.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
