Anyone with a love of Hawaii needs a history lesson . The US has done the peoples of the Nation of Hawaii an injustice. The Monarchy was forcibly overthrown by an illegal USA sanctioned armed coup d'état and we must be reminded of this.
Princess Ka'iulani was not meant to be an epic tale but a story of the rape of a nation and the struggle to be heard. It delivers that message in spades.
I will recommend this movie to all my friends.

Utterly Euphoric

I was expecting good and instead I got the entire Universe. This movie went beyond by the power ten. If you're looking for a Star Trek or Star Wars type movie you won't find it here. Avatar rewrites the rules for Sci-Fi.
The CG was flawless ( as far as I could tell ) as well as drop-dead gorgeous. I saw it in IMAX 3D. This should be the only way to view it. James Cameron has found his medium here.
People who write Avatar off as a glitzy Cameron extravaganza did not SEE the movie. This was pure escapism at it's very best. If you don't believe me try it on for yourself and you'll see that you'll walk away much light than when you arrived.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
