Star Trek for GenX

Having grown up with the ORIGINAL Star Trek and all of the spin-offs (NG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise), everyone involved with the production of this movie did a phenomenal job. I saw this first on the regular screen, and then the IMAX - wish I had seen it in IMAX first! With as many movies, and TV series, it was a daunting task to bridge those years between Enterprise and the original Star Trek series.
The cast did an excellent job with their characters. Instantly, we could recognize Kirk, Bones, Uhura, Spock, Scotty, Checkov and Sulu. Each of them picked up the essence of the central characters we've come to know.
I can't wait to see what they do in the subsequent movies.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
