Yes, truly awesome. Now, perhaps it was because of my first time in IMAX...could be because I had never seen a 3D movie....but if it was going to be a first of any kind, I am glad it was Avatar.
Predictable? Yes, of course. Unique storyline? No, not at all. However, this movie shows that reinventing the wheel is uniquely and unbelieveably possible. From the moment it started, I was emersed, baptized in the flood of visually and conceptually remarkable artistry. At almost 50, I felt like a child seeing his very first big screen movie...nothing else existed (save the equally beautiful woman I shared it with). See this movie! No matter the venue. But at all costs...see it in IMAX 3D.
