Madagascar 2 fell into the trap we see so often with a sequel. This movie had to many value statements: Alex and his family (meaning of standing by family), Alex and Marty (meaning of friendship), Gloria with another Modo Modo then getting together with Melman (realize what you have and go for meaning in a relationship), the penguins (teamwork), King Julian and his characters(self interest and craziness). All the plot lines made it look like overpriced actors competing for lines. The animation was excellent. Good soundtrack too.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

My boys ages 7 and 9 thought it was really great. They loved it! I couldn't wait for it to be over! Great boy movie! Not a Mom movie.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
