This is now my favorite Bond movie. It was grittier with all the action of the series. I love Daniel Craig as Bond. He is less polished than Connery or Moore (or Brosnan and Dalton) but brings a more realistic feel to the character. Also, the ubiquitous sex scenes are there but not so overdone. Craig's Bond is more about "Queen & Country" while doing his job and less about romancing the latest babe while completing the mission. Not to say he wouldn't take advantage of any offers but it seems less important to this Bond. I also enjoyed how they managed to get so many of the cliche Bond in-jokes and images into the movie at some point. It gave a nice sense of continuity to the series. I enjoyed seeing a bit more of Bond's personal history. Not so much to lose all the mystery but enough to give his character depth. The special effects were excellent as always, and the stunts were great- very realistic, I can imagine them actually happening. The acting was good overall. There was only one character that I didn't get into and that was Severine. She seemed a bit flat, though she did give a decent impression of being terrified while trying not to show it during the casino bar scene. The music- wonderful! New favorite song!
