Of course, I may be a little biased. My niece was a Production Assistant and a big family group went to see it Saturday. My partner is NOT an animation fan, and she even loved it. Randy Newman really did a great job on the music. Definitely worth seeing with or without kids!
We knew we would probably enjoy this, but had no idea how amazingly on Meryl Streep would play Julia Child. The depth of the story was truly amazing, showing many aspects of that period of time in Europe, and in American politics. The men in the audiance enjoyed the movie as much as the women! Put it on your list of must sees.
I went to this movie not knowing anything more than what the commercials depicted. I didn’t even notice that it was R rater. At one point I was ready to get up and leave because I do not like movies that are gruesome. Although some of this movie is gruesome, that is not the focus of the movie, and it is eloquently handled. Photography, costumes, and set designs are amazing. The focus is not on what happens to Walter Collins as much as it is what his mother goes through. There are so many amazing thought lines that run through this movie, that I must highly recommend this movie.
