Kudos to Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter, as well as director Tom Hooper and writer David Seidler. Perfect casting: King George, the speech instructor, and supporting roles entirely believable and engaging, and one very quickly cares about these people. The British royal family, often portrayed as unappealing charicatures, are full and complex people. Dialogue was natural and unforced, and the story well-paced. Sets and lighting were excellent. Derek Jacoby as Archbishop of Canterfury was an added treat. A critical time British history, this formerly untold story behind the story was most movingly captured. See it!
