It is one of the sexiest version of Carmen, second only to the (2003) Spanish movie version with Paz Vega in the key role.
In the current version the music and singing is outstanding, almost movie quality. The choreography too, however the staging is somewhat bizarre. Why do the cigar factory workers emerge from a whole in the ground? Why ruins for the soldiers quarters? Otherwise the customs are close to real for the chosen period, Seville in the 20's, as are those of the bullfighters and "cuadrilla".
Yes, I recommend this movie.
