Great for all ages

Cute movie, my two 4 year old boys loved the Smurfs and the humor. They watched the whole movie sitting still. It had a great moral for all ages. The quality and effects were great. I love the smurfs and this was a fresh take on an old classic.

My toddler boys (3yrs in August) enjoyed the Misty Island Rescue. The new characters are wonderful and add more diversity to the Thomas family, taught great lessons. I don't think it held their attention as much as Hero of the Rails and they enjoyed seeing Hiro in this episode. The amount of trailers and 20 minute episode of Angelina Ballerina before Thomas was too much. I understand that the advertising has to be done, but HIT has to remember that its target audience does not have the attention span needed for it. Especially when they are trying to sell a girly cartoon to little boys. I did pick up on the fact that they worked boy dancers into this episode but it was not enough for toddlers who are sitting in anticipation of Thomas. All the children in the theatre became upset when Thomas did not come on screen as scheduled. It was nice to have a bonus feature but it should have been advertised so parents could prepare their children for it and it should have been more gender and age appropriate.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great day out for toddlers

The stories kept my toddlers attention, they are 29 months. I feel the conductor and parrot are too much for them, maybe the scene too long. I can see that HIT is trying to change up the tv series and appreciate that. But please continue to show your original tapings and try making some new ones using the old style. The other thing is, I was expecting a movie like Hero of the Rails which my boys love and watch daily on DVD, we missed it in theaters. It was fine being short stories, but please advertise that a little better next time. They should leave these in the theater for longer periods of time and also offer some Sunday afternoon showing options. I would take my children back again.
