Not sure about the reasoning others gave to support only giving this 3 or fewer stars. For an action film, which is what this really is, it was superb. Don't expect a true-who-done-it of the classic Sherlock Holmes mystery genre. For those who are over-zealously loyal to the original ACD series...this might be too action packed and that's why the low ratings. I definitely prefer this version and am very intrigued at the prospect of future sequels. I thought the casting was excellent and will resoundingly concur w/ others who spoke of how well the chemistry worked between Downey and Law.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
