A Perfect Introduction to Opera

This was only the second opera I had ever seen, and it beats out the University production of La Boheme, hands down.
Elina was fabulous as Carmen, and Teddy Tahu Rhodes did a wonderful Escamillo. I was so happy he did so well, and on such little notice!
I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look we got with Renee Fleming-- seeing how the sets came together between acts, meeting the principle singers, and the choreographer.
This is a fabulous opera, cast and performed very well, and I love that is was broadcast in HD into a movie theatre. That way, even University students in Iowa, like, me, can see great opera.
Awesome experience! But next time, I'd go earlier to get a better seat.
