Good Effects - Terrible Characters and Boring Plot

Visually, the movie was fantastic. The colors and 3D were excellent. Camera angles and panning were compelling. I really liked the way they could move and how they connected with things.
Plot was very, very predictable. No twists. The actors were all 1D and very type cast complete with greedy-corporate-type, kill-them-all-general, over-committed-scientist, rebel-pilot, jealous-hot-headed-brother.
I didn't like that they assumed because they were "primitive,” they would have an African or Haitian accent. Made no sense because supposedly they learned English from Sigourney Weaver's school.
At times I wished I had a fast-forward button. But the effects probably work best in the theater, especially the 3D. I wouldn’t bother watching at home.
