Steven Spielberg has outdone himself this time. His Lincoln, as portrayed by Daniel Day-Lewis is a masterpiece of historical fact and drama. Day-Lewis nailed the role of Lincoln fighting for the passage of the thirteenth amendment to the constitution. We saw in him all the President's emotions from his "stories" to his compassion and his depression. Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln was also spot on. Who would have thought that she would be ideal for the part? She played Mary with the passion and the zeal that showed how frightened and emotionally frail the real Mary Lincoln was. The other members of the cast round this film out to make it an Oscar runaway.
This movie brings a satisfactory conclusion to the Potter movies. It was exciting, action filled, and kept my attention all the way through. It strayed from the book in several areas, which was somewhat disappointing as I would have like to have seen some of those brought to life. Even so, it was a terrific movie; one well worth seeing.
This movie was high action, that kept that sense of humor that J.K. Rowling had in mind. It was more true to the book then many of the other Harry Potter movies have been. I was sorry to see it end where it did, and can't wait for part 2.
I thought that this movie was excellent. Robert Downey and Jude Law were convincing as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. The chemistry between the two actors was terrific. There was a great plot line with plenty of action. The humor throughout the movie tended to break up the tension, and was greatly appreciated.
