In comparison to the first movie, this one comes up a bit short for me.
It relies more on action (fighting and shooting) than wit and cunning like the first one did.
Still good, and the acting by Downey and Law is very good. But ... Like many sequels, just not the same. I'd still recommend to see.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

the majority of reviews on here are excellent, but there are some pretty extreme views the other way. look .. If you are going to go to this movie, and expect Oscar winning acting performances, or an original plot ... no you aren't going to get that. and if you are offended by the political undertones in the movie ... well, lighten up.
But if you go and allow yourself to be taken away and entertained ... you will be amazed. Amazing graphics, an entertaining storyline, and well developed personalities and relationships in the movie make this an incredibly enjoying experience for all ages. Myself and my entire family were captivated for the full time and talked about it for hours afterwards.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
