Good Effects worn out story

I saw this movie at an IMAX theater in 3D. Very stunning visual effects. I guess it was worth the 11 bucks to enter. It gets 4 stars only because of the effects.
The story has been told countless times. Little Big Man(1970) staring Dustin Hoffman came immediately to mind. You know the story. Evil white man wants land that natives occupy. So if they can't buy the land they'll steal it by any means necessary. Including killing the native population.
Plus the movie drags out entirely too long. 2 hours and 40 minutes. I hate to see how long the extended DVD version will be. Anyone seeing this movie at home will miss the best of the special effects and will sorely disappointed. I'd give it a fair rating for home viewing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
