Empty calories from another planet

I give James Cameron high marks for creating another world in magnificent detail, but he really should have hired himself a screen writer. No one in the movie says anything new, memorable or of any substance.
Giovanni Ribisi was completely miscast as the corporate villain. Someone like Gary Oldman would have made the roll more interesting.
I really like Sigourney Weaver as an actress, but this roll didn’t meet up to ability. She really seemed to be going through the motions to collect a check on this one.
Overall it was entertaining, which is why you go to the movies. I just wish I didn’t feel like I just consumed a lot of empty calories.
