Good but not great

The special effects are fantastic, especially in IMAX 3D. The story however is very simplistic and if you've seen Fern Gully or Pocahontas, there will be NO surprises at all. I had an idea of how the movie was going to end before I even sat down in the theater and Avatar basically road on rails straight to the conclusion I pictured. I wouldn't rate this with Dances with Wolves as it's often compared to, but it's a solid movie and very easy for kids to understand if you don't mind non-explicit violence and some language.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
