groundbreaking visuals, old storyline

Some have called Avatar "Dances with Aliens," which is about 85% correct. What distinguishes this film, particularly in IMAX 3D, is the utterly captivating visuals that make it possible to immerse oneself in the alien environment of Pandora. There is an astonishing level of detail, and it becomes quite possible to believe you are really there. The storyline is very predictable, but that's hardly the point. When you get on a roller-coaster you already know what's going to happen, what counts is how it feels along the way. Avatar is the head & shoulders above anything else that has come before.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
