a great theatre experience

Seeing Avatar in 3-D in the Imax theatre was a great theatre experience. The 3-D did not produce eyestrain (as some 3D movies of the past). The colors and depth of the imagery was a totally new and exhilirating theatre experience for me. It made up for a predictable plot and occasionally trite script. The plot was multifaceted enough to engage those who are bored by strictly action or scifi scripts. And the themes and lessons of the movie were uplifting, even though there was not a freshness to the presentation. Finally, the sound track and sound system (with coordinated seat vibrations) was additive even though it was too loud for this middleaged woman.One definitely could not get this experience on a current DVD in one's home!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
