The first hour of the movie was really good, but didn't live up to the hype I'd heard. The last hour and 1/2 was fantastic; I got totally lost in the movie. The only bad thing was the cigarette smoking by the lead scientist character - totally unnecessary, contrived, and just plain dumb.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
