It's a children's fairy tale written for moron children, sweetened with the eye-candy of 3-D. The next step, beyond Avatar, will be to dispense with human actors entirely, but not the human form itself. Movies will use gigantic libraries of expressions, motions, and plot fragments. They will be put together by super computers and thrown on the screen in real time, presented to the audience via direct neural interfaces.
Oh, wait, there has already been a movie about this... it was called “The Matrix,” remember it?
