Maybe it was all the hype and rave reviews that got my expectations up, but Avatar didn't live up to them at all. The only thing that prevented me from leaving midway is the Imax and 3D experience (hence the two stars)....not the story (think it was a mash of a couple of other top grossers), not the acting (and Sigourney Weaver is one of my favs), not even the dialogues or editing.
Guess having friends in the film fraternity makes you extra critical...would only recommend it to a few guys who like things dolled up and those who have no better option.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
