Most hero movies overlook the basic character traits of the heros, the exceptionality of their character, rather than merely their muscles or genius. With Captain America, his greatest power is his character. Comic books can have difficulty walking the fine line between good character and the sometimes necessary killing that must occur when fighting dark forces. Finally, hero movies writers and directors are showing the patience and reserve necessary to make you actually feel for the hero; to feel the humanity. In Steve Roger's case, to see the maturity, but still appreciate the naivitee; to love the determination, but believe in the goodness. In the comic books, the one consistent thing was that everyone, even if they didn't agree on other things, was ready to accept Captain America as a leader or unifier. That's a delicate balance to maintain in a movie. I really love this film, and look forward to owning it. I'd recommend this to all my friends.
