Exhausted and Ready for a Bath

This 2 hour 20 minute movie seemed to be more like a four-hour movie. While I understood the time period, the constant gloom and grime was almost like watching the movie in black and white. The plot, an evil, ego maniac seeking to take over the world has been done to death - a little like watching FOX news. So many lines were mumbled through, we missed some of the dialogue. (Our hearing is fine, thank you.)Die-hard Sherlock Holmes fans will probably be able to endure and leave with brave, half-smiles on heir faces; however, as I was exiting the theater, another disappointed fan was saying "I hated it!". Guess I'm not the only person left who goes to movies to be entertained rather than to be beaten down and slimed.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
