The special effects in this movie are nothing short of spectacular. See it on the big screen - in 3D if possible. The story line is pretty simple, but adequate. It's NOT about the "noble savage" as some people think. It's about the obscene destructiveness of militarism and for-profit exploitation when it comes up against life itself. Before the movie started, there was a commercial for the National Guard showing gun-toting troops charging off in strange lands to get the mission of killing done. It was touted as really fun, something to be proud of. THATS what the movie is really about.
