While I would agree that the plot is formulaic (arrogant corporate/emperialistic archtypes try to take what they want from a technologically unsophisticated race), that doesn't reduce the impact of the movie (hey, it's sci-fi, action/adventure). But in true sci-fi tradition, the development of the alien culture and environment is sufficiently alien to be exotic and sufficiently terrestrial to be familiar. The soundtrack is rich and powerful, the visuals are awe-inspiring and the live-action/CGI interface is flawless. I only wish I could give it SIX stars.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
