I first saw Avatar in 2d format. Thought it was an excellent movie and I was glad to see it - but knew that the 3d version would be cool so bought tickets online for the 3d IMax version. It was like seeing the movie for the first time. This was the best 3d experience of all movies I have ever watched. What a cool movie. Even people who normally don't dig fantasy scifi type movies should see this just for the visual effects. The 3d was so good that you forgot you were watching through 3d glasses it just felt natural.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
