A mind-blowing special effects extravaganza, but predictable to the point of being mechanical. Within the first ten minutes of the film you will know exactly what is going to happen. That said, the creators did their homework, and the world they create is detailed and internally consistent. If you like the myth of the Noble Savage you will be well rewarded, and you will feel like you can live in the world they create. I always did think it would be fun to have a tail. There are unlimited possibilities for videogames, toys, cosplay, and marketing tie-ins of all kinds (not to mention sequels).
Yes, I recommend this movie.
