big step backwards for 3D

Alice undermined everything avatar did to legitimize the use of 3D in modern cinima. It was chalk full of poorly animated CGI and "poke you in the eye effects". It was just full of 3D for the sake of 3D. They didn't use it to enhance the story at all. If anything it was like they used it to distract the audience from the uninteresting storyline and inconsistant performances by depp and Hathaway. The hatter character bothered me the most though. The only thing mad about him was his desire to wear more makeup than David Bowie and Boy George at a makeover slumber party. He never acted daft or crazy, he acted more like an extra from Where the Wild Things Are. Just another uninteresting emotonally damaged frakshow.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
