Looks like a rough cut

Musically, there were, as expected, many excellent performances, but visually, this was not a well-presented film. In fact, there were times when it appeard that this was a rough cut that was rushed into theaters.
This was a visually disappointing movie. It appears that this was rushed to the theaters because the editing was awful. There was far too much camera movement and many of the edits were very short which made for a visually jarring expeience, and this style of presentation made it difficult to follow the music. The film lacked enough wide and static shots which would have given viewers the chance to watch the musicians and follow the music. I can't remember how many times the visuals cut away from whomever was singing or playing lead. This often reminded me of Cream's Farewell movie, and other poorly edited music music movies from the 60's.
The DVD will probably provide a far more rich and fulfilling musical experience because it was obvious that it was very challenging to capture the entire concert in a two hour movie.
Musically, highlights were EC, Winwood, Robert Cray, Sheryl Crow, Derek Trucks, Johnny Lang and Vince Gill and the other players who joined him on Lay Down Sally.
So here is hoping that there will be far more time devoted to editing and presentation on the DVD.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Visually stunning, weak story line

Visually, this is an incredible film to watch though probably 1/2 to one hour too long. The 3D is truly amazing. However, the story is lame. At points I was wondering if I was watching Dances With Wolves or Pocahontas. The story is very corny, and gets more so as the film goes on. It's also sunk by a number of one dimensional characters -military guy - bad, corporate guy - evil. Even the scientist wasn't a well developed character. Is there anyone who couldn't have predicted how the last hour of this film would play out? Also interesting to see the Roger Dean Yes album cover artwork come to life as the floating mountains.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
