I was not expecting such a dark, serious villain. Voo-doo? Why introduce such a dark practice to children. Using the prince's blood and sticking another with a pin was innappropriate. The princess lost her father, a soldier,,unnecessary to the plot of the movie. Why include something that might trigger pain among children who have experienced loss. This is a children's movie. Keep it light hearted. Both of my grandchildren, 6 & 4 wanted to leave early! I kept them because I wanted them to see that the shadow man was going to lose and not triumph. Think twice before bringing your kids to this one. I think there was too much scare and not enough cheer.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
